About the Work

In the quietude of "Whispering Embers," there lies a deeper, more intimate flame—one that speaks to the dual nature of fire as both destroyer and creator. Field Study of Morning Light II is a softer, more observational piece within the Spring Collection. It feels like that early part of the day when the room is not fully awake yet, but the light has already started changing everything.
The painting is layers with pale blue, green and warm neutral tones, with textured forms sitting low in the composition. There is a pull towards the centre, almost like looking across a field before the details have properly been noticed.
This piece is about paying attention to the smaller shifts in everyday energy: the way morning light sits on a wall, the way colour looks different before the day becomes busy, the way a room can feel calmer simply because the light has changed.
It would suit a bedroom, hallway, reading corner or home office; somewhere the artwork can bring a sense of space, ease and focus.
The Spring Collection is a series of original paintings about the return of colour, light and feeling.
Rather than painting spring as something sudden or decorative, this body of work looks at the smaller shift that happens first: a paler sky, a warmer edge of light, green beginning to appear again, the sense that something has started moving before it can fully be explained.
These paintings are not exact landscapes. They are shaped by morning light, open skies and places from my memories, but they are also about the feeling of coming back to yourself after a colder quieter season.
Each piece is made to bring softness, depth and a sense of return into the home without overwhelming the room.
