My Solace
My Solace feels more intimate than dramatic. It is not about spring arriving all at once, but about the smaller comfort of finding a place, a colour, or a moment that makes you feel a little more settled.
There is a restful quality to the composition, with enough movement and texture to keep the eye returning without making the piece feel busy. It would suit a bedroom, hallway, reading corner or calm living space; somewhere the artwork can sit naturally and become part of the daily rhythm of the room.
The Spring Collection is a series of original paintings about the return of colour, light and feeling.
Rather than painting spring as something sudden or decorative, this body of work looks at the smaller shift that happens first: a paler sky, a warmer edge of light, green beginning to appear again, the sense that something has started moving before it can fully be explained.
These paintings are not exact landscapes. They are shaped by morning light, open skies and places from my memories, but they are also about the feeling of coming back to yourself after a colder quieter season.
Each piece is made to bring softness, depth and a sense of return into the home without overwhelming the room.
Original works by Kinga Makowka, created as part of the Spring Collection, 2026.
