Still, I Went On

£1,749.00

I think there are times when moving forward feels very deliberate, and others when you barely notice you are doing it.

You do not always feel brave. You do not always know where you are going. Sometimes you are tired, unsure, or convinced you should have figured things out by now.

And still, somehow, you keep going.

I thought about that a lot while painting this piece. From a distance it’s solid and certain, but being inside a landscape like this is completely different. You only ever see part of the route. There is always another rise, another turn, something you could not see from where you started.

This is not I conquered it.

Not I knew what I was doing.

Still, I went on.
