The Crossing

£1,749.00

The Crossing is a painting about movement, but not in an everyday kind of way. It feels like the point between one side and the next; when something has already changed, but you are still in the middle of this exact moment. You are already losing the old and touching the new.

The soft blue and green tones give the piece an open, natural feeling, while the darker central forms bring a little more weight and depth. There is a sense of looking across land or water, but the painting does not give everything away. It leaves enough space for the viewer to bring their own feeling to it.

This piece would suit a room where you want the artwork to have presence without feeling too strong or overpowering. A living room, hallway, dining room or quiet office space would all work well.

The Spring Collection is a series of original paintings about the return of colour, light and feeling.

Rather than painting spring as something sudden or decorative, this body of work looks at the smaller shift that happens first: a paler sky, a warmer edge of light, green beginning to appear again, the sense that something has started moving before it can fully be explained.

These paintings are not exact landscapes. They are shaped by morning light, open skies and places from my memories, but they are also about the feeling of coming back to yourself after a colder quieter season.

Each piece is made to bring softness, depth and a sense of return into the home without overwhelming the room.

Original works by Kinga Makowka, created as part of the Spring Collection, 2026.
