A Pocket Full of Leaves emerged from one of my favourite parts of autumn, going out for long walks with my family.
Finding the crunchiest leaf.
A stick that would make a perfect bow.
An interesting piece of bark.
The children’s pockets are always full by the end.
I carry a ton of these little treasures around in my car, unable to clean them away.
I think I love it because children are so good at noticing things we have trained ourselves to walk past. A leaf is not just another leaf, it is THE leaf.
This piece has a dreamlike quality, and so do everyday walks once you slow down and really pay attention.
