Spring is the brightest piece in the collection, a painting about colour arriving before you are quite ready for it.
There is something joyful in the pinks and greens, but it still feels gentle rather than loud. It reminds me of that point in the year when small things suddenly start appearing everywhere: colour at the edge of a path, blossom in places you had stopped looking, a warmer kind of light in the room.
This piece has a more open, uplifting feel, with soft blue space above and a loose, garden-like movement below. It would suit a room that needs freshness, colour and a little lift; somewhere you want the artwork to bring life into the space without taking over completely.
The Spring Collection is a series of original paintings about the return of colour, light and feeling.
Rather than painting spring as something sudden or decorative, this body of work looks at the smaller shift that happens first: a paler sky, a warmer edge of light, green beginning to appear again, the sense that something has started moving before it can fully be explained.
These paintings are not exact landscapes. They are shaped by morning light, open skies and places from my memories, but they are also about the feeling of coming back to yourself after a colder quieter season.
Each piece is made to bring softness, depth and a sense of return into the home without overwhelming the room.
